The Tony Hudgell Foundation’s Lapland trip was nothing short of magical. What began as a heartfelt wish has now become a reality that will live on forever in the memories of the children and families who were lucky enough to experience it. From the moment they arrived in Luosto, Finland, the excitement, wonder and joy were unmistakable, with snow-covered landscapes providing the perfect setting for a truly unforgettable adventure.
Across four incredible days, families shared precious time together, free from hospital appointments, therapy schedules and daily challenges. There were laughter-filled moments, new friendships formed, and countless firsts — from experiencing the Arctic winter to taking part in magical festive activities and, of course, the unforgettable hunt to find Santa himself. Seeing the pure joy on the children’s faces reminded everyone why this trip mattered so much.
For many families, this was more than just a holiday. It was a chance to heal, to reconnect, and to create memories that will be cherished forever. The strength and resilience shown by these children mirrors Tony’s own journey, making the experience even more meaningful and emotional for all involved.
The Foundation would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this trip possible — from the generous supporters who helped raise the funds, to Canterbury Travel for their incredible support in delivering such a magical experience. Together, you helped turn a dream into reality and brought Christmas magic to families who truly deserved it. This trip was a powerful reminder of what compassion, kindness and community can achieve.

“It was not just a holiday, but a chance for him to experience something extraordinary - something that would simply not have been possible without the generosity, kindness and hard work of the foundation.”

“The twins had the most magical, unforgettable time; they didn’t stop smiling from ear to ear, just like the rest of the kids. They made new friends, the adults made new friends, and the whole thing had such a lovely, supportive community feel.”
